Bodypoint Hires Former Invacare Executive to Lead New European Office

August 21, 2020 - Bodypoint is pleased to announce the establishment of Bodypoint Europe BV and the appointment of Gustave Moot as Director of European Sales.

Gustave brings extensive experience as a team leader in the rehab mobility industry in Europe and will be a valuable asset in strengthening the company’s relationships in the region.

Gustave comes to Bodypoint after 17 years in product management and marketing at Invacare, where he had opportunity to oversee the entire spectrum of product innovation, from conception to market launch and obsolescence. He had been a member of Invacare’s European Leadership Team for the past 10 years, and in his most recent role, was responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing strategy for manual mobility and seating products in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Experience has given Gustave an understanding of the complexities and differences between local markets and how to effectively tailor business to suit local needs. Through his role as a head of Product Management at Invacare Europe, he developed competence in the changing responsibilities of distributors and resellers under the new EU Medical Device Regulations (MDR) taking effect in May 2021.

The establishment of Bodypoint Europe BV creates a local hub for activities in over 20 European countries, allowing the company to respond faster to the needs of the market and support strategic growth. It will also help Bodypoint alleviate many of the regulatory and compliance challenges faced by its European partners under CE regulations and the new MDR; for example, by having the company act as its own legal importer and EU Authorized Representative.

A native of the Netherlands, Gustave is fluent in Dutch, German and English and, of course, has a natural comfort with European business culture. In his new role, he will serve as the head of Bodypoint Europe BV and lead Bodypoint’s European sales and education efforts, building upon the strength of the company’s existing local team, Filipe Monforte Correia and Bart Van der Heyden, who will continue in their current roles.
